falls & injury prevention classes

Every Friday morning our falls and injury prevention classes are held at Lifestyle Therapies. Each session runs for one hour and is composed of gentle exercise which is carried out to help promote an over all better health and wellness along with improved strength, balance and co-ordination.

 

Balance exercises are used to help improve the individual’s reaction time and reduce their risk of falling while muscle building exercises are used to promote muscle strengthening and increase bone density which will help to reduce the chances of osteoporosis.

 

Combinations of group, individual and rotational exercises are used throughout the session as well as mat, reformer and bike exercises. Class numbers are kept to a minim, with only 3 to 5 people in each session, to ensure that maximal safety and client instructor contact is present.

 

Along with the physical benefits that arise from the sessions classes also provide a fun social environment to participate in.
